Why does the block stay in one piece?
The tines close together at the same pressure, so the block is cut cleanly in one go. When the block holds together, less surface meets the air — no secondary fermentation and no loss of feed value.
How do you maintain it?
At season end, wash it with pressurised water and dry it properly — silage is acidic and leftover residue speeds up rust. Then grease every moving point and wipe a thin film of oil on the cylinder rods. Re-torque the tine bolts once after the first 10 hours of work.
